This was purchased to replace our old Prestige pressure cooker and sadly is not a patch on it.
The basket is just way too small and has no divider to keep different items seperate while steaming
The lack of a trivet tray for the base and just a wire stand means items in the base end up sitting in water which which means par boiled and the items in the basket above get steamed (uneven cooking) Potatoes in the base cooked perfectly but alas the spouts and other veg in the basket above not cooked. Our old Prestige cooker which we had used for the last 25 years had a Trivet tray which allowed larger items such as potatoes to sit on the tray and more importantly above the water to allow steaming and then the other veg in the basket above them meaning everything was cooked perfectly.
I am going to try and purchase an addition trivet basket to allow me to keep different items seperate and keep the items out of the water in the base. Hopefully this will improve the cooker, although I shouldn't have to do this and did feel in the 25 to 30 years we have been using pressure cookers improvements would have been made....but sadly not.
We used to use our old Prestige cooker almost daily, however the new cooker has hardly been used as to keep veg and potatoes seperate we have had to use a normal pan and boil.....which rather defeats the object of using the pressure cooker for us, so we have ended up using a couple of seperate pans.
We feel we have just wasted our money but will update if the additional basket improves the cooker
